Dr. Malar Kalia
Dr. Malar Kalia graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, and then earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Manitoba. Prior to moving to Edmonton with her husband, Dr. Kalia gained experience at a large group practice in the Greater Toronto Area. She then spent two years practicing in North Edmonton before moving closer to home to work at Yellowbird Dental. Dr Kalia is currently a clinical instructor at the University of Alberta Faculty of Dentistry, Pediatric Department.
Dr. Kalia’s adventurous spirit is evident in all she does. She is very excited to bring the latest technology and techniques to Yellowbird Dental. Dr. Kalia’s warm, fun, and friendly personality shines through with each patient she meets. She is passionate about life and dentistry. Building long-term relationships with Yellowbird Dental patients is her personal goal.
Dr. Kalia loves to travel and spend time hiking in the mountains!
Meet Your Dental Hygienists
Brandy graduated from the University of Alberta in 2004 with both her Diploma of Dental Hygiene and a Bachelor of Science degree. She has her certification in Local Anaesthetics from the University of Alberta and Advanced Periodontal Training from the University of Michigan. Brandy has diode laser training from the World Clinical Laser Institute. As a dental hygienist, Brandy’s focus is on providing friendly, high-quality care to her patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. She is committed to making your dental hygiene appointments a comfortable and positive experience.
Brandy’s part-time practice in our office allows her to spend valuable time with her children, volunteering at school and attending their activities. When she finds time for herself, you may find her reading, enjoying a session of yoga, or savouring a warm chai tea.

Chassidy graduated from the University of Alberta with both her Dental Hygiene Diploma in 2012, and her Bachelor of Science with Dental Hygiene Specialization in 2014. As a dental hygienist, Chassidy prides herself on trying to make her clients feel as comfortable as possible in her chair. She enjoys connecting with her patients at their appointment. Chassidy excels at helping personalize each of her patients' care and recommendations to help them achieve their ideal oral health.
When she is not at work, Chassidy enjoys spending time with her family, baking with her two young kids, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Lee-Anne,
Patient & Scheduling Coordinator
Lee-Anne is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology Dental Assisting Program. She brings many years of experience both to clinical assisting and to the front desk. Lee-Anne has been with Yellowbird Dental for a long time and has had the opportunity to care for generations of fantastic Yellowbird Dental patients and families. Building long-term relationships with patients is what fuels Lee-Anne’s obvious passion for caring for people. She works closely with our the Yellowbird Dental family to make sure that everyone is truly cared for to the highest levels, whether it is maximizing your insurance benefit or simply listening to your concerns. Lee-Anne enjoys life and thrives on interacting with the great patients of Yellowbird Dental.
When not in the office caring for patients, Lee-Anne enjoys cooking, gardening, and time at the lake spent with family, friends, and her three Yorkshire terriers.
Crystal,
Patient & Scheduling Coordinator
Native to Fort McMurray, Crystal completed the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) dental assisting program before pursuing a career as a registered dental assistant and then as a patient coordinator. She is passionate about listening to and supporting each of you and creating a friendly environment in the dental office. Crystal schedules every dental appointment with your comfort and convenience in mind, with the goal of ensuring your dental visit addresses your smile needs. Away from our practice, she enjoys camping outdoors with her husband, three kids, and chihuahua.

Holly,
Registered Dental Assistant
Holly completed her diploma in dental assisting at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton. She grew up in a large family in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Holly loves the work she does at Yellowbird Dental. She finds that she enjoys both the hands-on aspects of dentistry and the science behind the various procedures we perform. Her goal is to provide every patient with a positive experience when they visit our office. When not at work, Holly enjoys practicing the piano, watering her many house plants and going for walks.

Maryam proudly completed her dental assisting certificate at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton. Growing up, she traveled the world with her family, which provided her with a wealth of diverse experiences. Fluent in five languages, she has an exceptional ability to connect with her patients, ensuring they feel understood, comfortable, and welcomed during their visits.
At Yellowbird Dental, Maryam flourishes as part of her dental family. She is passionate about educating her patients on the importance of oral health and finds fulfillment in delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Her greatest joy comes from seeing her patients' satisfaction and helping them gain confidence through their smiles.
Outside of work, Maryam cherishes her free time. She enjoys crocheting, watercolor painting, and spending time with her two beloved cats. Additionally, she loves baking treats for her friends and family. She values the moments spent creating beautiful memories with those she holds dear.
